The U.S. Mint has produced a number of silver dollar coins throughout its history. Today, silver is too valuable to be used in regular currency. However, it’s still employed in collector- and investor-grade coins, which many seek out for their aesthetic and financial value. If you're looking to add to your collection or purchase silver as an investment, Mint State Gold can help. Our inventory contains a variety of silver items produced by the U.S. Mint over its long history.
Our inventory changes regularly but is carefully chosen to ensure we have options for every collector and investor. Some products you'll find in our online store include:
- Morgan Silver Dollars: The U.S. Mint issued Morgan silver dollars between 1878 and 1904, and again in 1921. Named after designer George T. Morgan, Morgan dollars feature the portrait of Lady Liberty in profile on the obverse and an eagle with outstretched wings on the reverse. Morgan dollars have investment potential and are highly attractive.
- Peace Dollars: The Peace dollar was the successor to the Morgan dollar, issued between 1921 and 1928, and again in 1934 and 1935. Designed in the aftermath of World War I, they feature an eagle clutching an olive branch with the word "PEACE" below it, and a portrait of Liberty on the obverse.
- Walking Liberty Half-Dollars: These 50-cent pieces were minted between 1916 and 1947 from 90% pure silver. Quality Walking Liberty half-dollars are highly sought-after by collectors, and Mint State (MS) graded examples can command high prices.
- American Silver Eagles: The Silver Eagle is the current official U.S. Mint silver bullion coin. It has been in production since 1986. In addition to bullion coins, the Mint also produces Proof and Burnished Silver Eagles for the collectors’ market.
Other U.S. Mint silver coins and bullion we sell include rare Barber dimes, early Standing Liberty quarters, and more. For investors, we offer 40% and 90% silver bags of ungraded coins in various denominations. Bags typically contain currency that is still legal tender, but made from silver worth more than its face value.
