This particular 1907 $10 Liberty Gold Eagle has an attractive appeal that stands above the usual MS61 coins from this mintage.

Well struck devices stand out prominently, with good detail throughout both sides of the coin. The obverse (front side) is well preserved and bears evidence of a solid strike. The reverse (back side) has a cartwheel shine and minimally marked fields. This historic beauty exhibits good luster and minimally marked surfaces for the grade. With splashes of warm orange luster accenting straw-gold surfaces, this $10 Liberty has nice overall eye-appeal.

Containing almost a half an ounce of gold, the $10 Liberty Gold Eagle is one of the best gold portfolio builders in the market today. Minted continuously from 1838 to 1907, the Liberty Eagle quickly became very popular and was one of the most circulated coins in U.S. history.

The obverse, inspired by the 1816 Coronet-type Large Cent, features a left facing image of Lady Liberty, donning a coronet inscribed with the word “LIBERTY”, surrounded by 13 stars representing the original 13 states. The reverse depicts an imposing eagle holding an olive branch in one claw and arrows in the other, and is considered to be one of the most fascinating eagles in the history of U.S. coinage.
