Graded a very distinguished MS62 by PCGS, this blazing Gold Liberty from the San Francisco mintage of 1898 is outstanding; full of original mint luster and shining with a rich golden yellow hue with lots eye appeal. Although there are some handling and bag marks as the MS62 grade suggests, they are minimal and do not subtract from this rare gold coin’s grace and appeal. Well struck and blazing with mint luster, this fine gold coin has tremendous upside potential!

Each $20 Liberty gold coin contains just shy of one full ounce of pure gold! The most recognizable and highly esteemed coin of its day, the $20 Gold Liberty was born as a result of the California Gold Rush of 1848. Commonly called Double Eagles, these historical coins were produced continuously from 1849 – 1907 and served as currency in the United States until 1933. The obverse, inspired by the $10 Gold Liberty Eagle, features a left facing image of Lady Liberty, donning a coronet inscribed with the word “LIBERTY”, surrounded by 13 stars representing the original 13 states. The reverse boasts one of the most impressive images on any U.S. coin in the form of a dauntless eagle with wings fully spread.
