The Timing Is Right In Increase Your Gold/Silver Holdings - CoinStats Available
This Week's Headlines: |
I believe, based on the way Gold has been trading recently, it’s time to recap what the Gold price has done in 2019 to date. Gold started 2019 at $1,280 per ounce and moved to $1,340 by Feb. 20th. It then traded between $1,275 and $1,340 per ounce until the end of May. In June, Gold started to rally and reached $1,410 by June 30th. In July, Gold built a base between $1,400 and $1,430 per ounce. Starting in August, Gold increased $120, moving from $1,420 to $1,540 per ounce on extraordinary volume for a summer month. In September, Gold reached a high of $1,557 before hitting a low of $1,464 per ounce by month end. In October, Gold has traded above and below the key $1,500 support level, but never breaking below the September low of $1,464.
Gold closed last Friday at $1,488 per ounce, up $6 on average trading volume.
Today: The U.S. Dollar Index broke below the 97 level (lowest value in a month). A weaker Dollar is very bullish for the short-term future of the Gold price. This morning Gold opened unchanged to lower on indications of positive news on the upcoming Brexit vote.
Last week, Silver surprisingly hit a low of $17.10 on Wednesday before ending the week above the $17.50 level. Silver closed on Friday at $17.51 per ounce, up $0.03 for the week. Global demand for physical Silver investment products is showing a dramatic increase, particularly when the price declines near the $17 level. India and China are both showing sizeable increase in popular Silver bullion products at the current low price. The Silver-to-Gold ratio is 85-to-1.
I continue to believe that Silver is building a base for its next move to the key $18 resistance level later this month.
Today: In the face of an unchanged to low Gold price, Silver first tested support at $17.50 then rallied this morning. Silver reached a high of $17.77 per ounce before seeing some short-term profit taking.
Our numismatic CoinStats report is a great tool for rare coin investors. CoinStats is an in-depth statistical analysis of popular rare coin series that allows you to identify the best values in certified rare coins. I am proud to offer this unique and informative tool exclusively to our clients. CoinStats has been updated for October 2019 and is now available. Six different series are available: $20 Gold Saint Gaudens, $20 Gold Liberties, $10 Gold Indians, Morgan & Peace Silver Dollars, and the Walking Liberty Half Dollars.
The CoinStats report provides a list of my recommended certified U.S. Gold and Silver coins which are found listed on the Best Value page. These are not the modern issue bullion coins or low-grade circulated coins. These are PCGS/NGC certified MS63 or higher Gold and Silver U.S. rare coins, dated prior to 1948, which have a proven track record of appreciation and also offer excellent liquidity. To receive the latest CoinStats analysis, just put the word CoinStats in the subject line and email me which of the six series you would like to see.
CoinStats changes coming in 2020
I have been waiting for many years for the populations of the plus grades to reflect an accurate price premium. So, I will be adding plus grades to the six popular Gold and Silver U.S. coin series effective January of 2020. Also, since over 95% of our clients prefer PCGS graded coins for these six series, I will be focusing the CoinStats statistical analysis on PCGS graded coins only. I look forward to hearing feedback from our clients on these changes.
