The Lunar Series

Australia’s bullion is well-known for featuring different animals from Koalas and Kookaburras to the Australian Brumby. One of the most well-known collections from the Perth Mint features the 12 animals of the Chinese Zodiac. The Australian Lunar Series of bullion coins was established in 1996 and the reverse design changes each year, following the Lunar Calendar. All Australian coins have a similar design on their obverse featuring the effigy of the current monarch of the British Commonwealth.
