$5 Gold Indian
Breaking with all traditions, the $5 Gold Indian coins featured an incuse design, meaning that the fine details of the designs are sunken into the gold surface. All other traditional coins from the US Mint are struck in bas-relief, meaning their designs are raised slightly above the surface fields. The $5 Gold Indians were only stuck intermittently from 1907 until 1933 when U.S. gold coins were recalled to the Treasury and millions of gold coins were melted down and destroyed forever. The $5 Gold Indian was produced before 1933, which gives them additional privacy benefits since they are exempt from 1099 reporting forms.
