These 2014-W American Gold $50 Buffalo Proof coins, from the West Point Mint, are 1 troy ounce of 24 karat gold, graded PR70 Deep Cameo by PCGS and certified First Strike. These fine gold proof coins are sure to please even the most discerning numismatist or gold collector! American Gold Buffalo were the first .9999 fine (24 karat) gold coins made by the U.S. Mint. The minting of these coins has been commissioned to the United States Mint at West Point, and they have done an incredible job of producing the Proof versions of these American Gold Buffalo coins. By using a specialized minting process that begins by manually feeding burnished coin blanks into presses fitted with special dies, the coin is then struck multiple times so the softly frosted and highly detailed images seem to float above the field.
