U.S. Government shutdown not having affect on Gold

GOLD

The U.S. Government shutdown is not having any affect on precious metal markets. Gold is trading in a narrow $8 high/low range. The high has been $1,336 and the low $1,328, this is well within the recent trading range. At 11am PST today, Gold is up $4 per ounce, trading at $1,332 on excellent volume.

SILVER

Silver broke down below the $17 per ounce support/resistance level this morning. Silver reached a low of $16.92 before rallying back to $17 on good volume. At 11am PST today, Silver is trading at $17 per ounce, up $0.02 on average volume.
