GOLD

Gold is trading between $1,180 and $1,190 per ounce today, building a nice base before it makes its first attempt of the year to break above the important $1,200 resistance level later this month. At 11am PST today, Gold is trading at $1,186 per ounce, up $2 on good volume.

SILVER

This morning Silver made its very first attempt of the year to break above the key $17 per ounce resistance level. Silver reached a high of $16.98 per ounce before seeing some short-term profit taking. At 11am PST today, Silver is up $0.10 per ounce, trading at $16.78 on excellent volume.
