One troy ounce first quality Silver Trade Units contain .999 fine silver. Also known as ‘Silver Rounds’, these privately issued Silver bullion pieces bear a rendition of James Earl Fraser's classic Buffalo design and are valued slightly above silver spot price. Silver has been used as everyday “hard” money for more than 6,000 years. The Ancient Greek and Roman Silver coins were instantly accepted throughout their massive empires. Today, Silver is too valuable to be used in circulating coinage, but is bought and sold in vast quantities throughout the world. Industrial, jewelry, and photographic demand account for 95% of silver’s modern usage. There are no above-ground government stockpiles of refined silver to meet a sudden surge of demand and because silver is primarily mined as a by-product of other metals, silver production cannot quickly respond to rising prices. That means it wouldn’t take too much additional demand -- from investors, hedge funds, or governments -- to push silver’s market prices to sharply higher levels!
These beautiful American Eagle Silver Coins contain 1 troy ounce of silver each, and are in BU (Brilliant Uncirculated) condition. The coin pictured is a representation of our Brilliant Uncirculated American Silver Eagles. The coins you receive may be from one, or a range of dates/mints from 1986 to the present, from Philadelphia, San Francisco, and/or West Point. Mint State Gold selects the dates/mints you will receive and feels confident you will be very pleased with the selections. The obverse (front side) features a rendition of world-renowned sculptor Adolph A. Weinman's magnificent Walking Liberty design, originally used on the United States Half-Dollar coin from 1916 – 1947. As this iconic design had been one of the most beloved designs of any United States coinage of modern times, due to its demand it was revived for the Silver Eagle in 1986. The reverse (back side) is a creation of Sculptor-Engraver John Mercanti and bears a rendition of a majestic eagle grasping an olive branch in its right talon and arrows in its left, proudly perched below thirteen five-pointed stars.
