INCREDIBLY RARE… ONLY 7 finer! This 1909-S $10 Indian Head Gold Eagle has graded GEM MS65 by PCGS for its brilliant luster and stunning high-point detail. Well-struck devices stand out prominently on satiny fields, making this San Francisco minted Indian an extraordinary example of its mintage. With strong detail, bold contrast, and captivating overall eye-appeal, this $10 gold Indian is truly exceptional.

Of the original 1909 San Francisco mintage of 292,350 $10 Gold Eagles very few have survived in mint state condition. In fact, only a handful has survived to be graded in GEM condition by PCGS. Current PCGS population reports show ONLY 21 graded MS65 and ONLY 7 graded higher.

The $10 Indian is revered as one of the top coin designs in US history. With an impressively majestic eagle perched upon a collection of arrows on the reverse and a left facing "Lady Liberty" bust from the Liberty series with a Native American ceremonial headdress inspired by the $2.50 and $5 Indian coins. Another departure from previous standards is found on the edge of the coins, where 46 raised stars (48 stars from 1912 on) are arranged representing the states of the Union.
