This 1909-S Lincoln Cent is the coveted VDB variety and has been graded AU55 by PCGS. Featuring a solid strike and remarkable high points. This 1909-S VDB San Francisco Lincoln Wheat Penny is a remarkable cent from a very popular mintage.Struck during the First Year of Mintage, this scarce Lincoln Cent is also a desirable collectible.

Designed by Victor D. Brenner, the Lincoln Cent was issued to commemorate the 100th Anniversary of Lincoln’s birth, and a limited quantity of the 1909’s reverse bares the initials VDB. Later in 1909 the Secretary of the Treasury ordered the initials removed, but they were eventually restored in 1918 and appear on all Lincoln Cents after that date.

The coin pictured is the exact one you will receive. A 1909-S Lincoln Cent, graded AU55 by PCGS with Certification number 2426.55/29584826. PCGS graded coins are sonically sealed in a protective, tamper-evident PCGS NumisCap holder. A special label within the holder indicates the coin's certification number, grade, date, denomination, unique bar code and pedigree if applicable.
