Description

Presenting an Italy 1961 Gold Centenary of the Unification 3 Medal Set. These proofs were minted by the Italian Mint (IPZS) and contain a total of 1.017 ounces of Gold. This set includes a 7 grams (.2025 AGW), 10.5 grams (.3060 AGW), and 17.5 grams (.5058 AGW). All 3 proofs have bright golden surfaces, crisp devices, and good detail throughout.

The obverse features conjoined busts of (from left to right) King Vittorio Emanuele II, Camillo Benso Count of Cavour, Giuseppe Garibaldi and Giuseppe Mazzini. Along with the inscription "PRIMO CENTENARIO DELL'UNITA' D'ITALIA GLI ARTEFICI" which means "First Centenary of the Unification of Italy * The creators * ". The reverse features a quadriga at gallop to the left, led by a woman holding a torch. The quadriga runs upon a zodiacal belt.
