This 1886-A 100 FR French Angel is simply divine. With a strong strike and plenty of detail this BU (Brilliant Uncirculated) Angel is lovely. This attractive Gold rarity has minimal wear and contact marks and still boasts an impressive amount of original luster and would be considered a showcase piece in any European Gold collection.

Best known for bringing good luck to their owners, the “Lucky Angel” has a fascinating legend behind it dating back to the French Revolution. The legend began during the Reign of Terror in the mid-1790s, when the coin’s designer claimed to have been saved from the guillotine by the lucky Angel coin in his pocket. Almost from the beginning, Gold Angels were regarded as lucky charms.

Minted in Paris, this 100 Francs Angel has impeccable detail for being 130 years old. The 100 Fr. French Angel has a Gold content of .9334 oz AGW (actual gold weight).
