Gold Heading For The Highest Close In Six Years

Gold continues its December rally, firmly moving above the key $1,500 resistance level. Gold reached a high of $1,516, a two-month high earlier today, heading for the highest close in six years. Gold has climbed throughout the year, as a hedge against uncertainty and the best safe haven investment in the world. At 11am PT today, Gold is trading up $2 per ounce at $1,513 on average volume.

SILVER

Silver took a pause today, after a $0.75 increase in the first three trading days of this week. After briefly breaking above the key $18 per ounce resistance level yesterday, Silver is consolidating its recent rally and building a base for the next attempt to break the $18 level. At 11am PT today, Silver is down $0.07 per ounce, trading at $17.87 on normal volume.
