Gold & Silver Awaiting News From Jackson Hole
GOLD
Federal Reserve Chairman Powell is set to speak later this week at the financial conference in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. The precious metal markets will react to any indication of lower U.S. interest rates.
Today, gold is showing weakness and traded between $3,315 and $3,345 per ounce, with some light profit taking.
At 11 am PT today, gold is down $17 per ounce, trading at $3,317 on average volume.
SILVER
Silver saw profit-taking during Asian trading earlier this morning. Silver reached a high today of $38.20 per ounce, then struggled to stay above the key $38 level.
When silver moved below $38, the short-sellers came in and the price quickly dropped $0.50 per ounce, to a low of $37.21.
At 11 am PT today, silver is trading at $37.30 per ounce, down $0.73 on normal volume.
