Gold/Silver Up on News Bureau of Labor Statistics

GOLD

After getting a delayed labor report (given the 43-day shutdown through October) we finally got job numbers since August. It showed that nonfarm payrolls rose by only 50,000 in December. As most economists expected around 65-68,000 jobs. With the news Gold is testing the $4,500 level again.

At 11am PT today, Gold is at $4,495 per ounce, up by $42 on strong volume.

SILVER

Today Silver is testing the $80 level again, with the recent news from the Bureau of Labor Statistics. All through the night it was trading in the $76 range, but had a small increase as the night progressed. However, we saw a stronger pop during U.S. trading hours given the release from the Bureau.

At 11am PT today, Silver is at $80.49 per ounce, up by $4.84 on excellent volume.
