Interest Rates & U.S. Dollar Increased This Morning
GOLD
Both interest rates and the value of the U.S. Dollar increased (over 94) this morning, which put pressure on precious metal prices this morning. Gold reached a low of $1,745 per ounce before seeing bargain buying, quickly taking the price back over the key $1,750 level. At 11am PT today, Gold is trading at $1765 per ounce, remaining the same as yesterday on good volume.
SILVER
Silver followed Gold lower this morning, reaching a low of $22.18 before recovering. Silver is seeing substantial contract and physical demand every time it moves below $22.25 per ounce. At 11am PT today, Silver is trading at $22.68, down $0.05 per ounce on firm volume.
