New Year Brings Higher Gold Prices

GOLD

Gold traded very actively during Asian and European trading this morning. Gold reached a high of $1,851, up $24, before seeing selling as markets rolled into the U.S. There is a lot of optimism in the financial markets about the Chinese markets opening up. At 11am PT today, Gold is trading at $1,839, up $12 from last Friday, on excellent volume.

SILVER

The Silver price fell on the same news, testing its $23 key support level. Silver did reach a low of $22.98 per ounce before seeing bargain buying. At 11am PT today, Silver is down $0.50, trading at $23.10 on excellent volume.
