Today was a light volume trading day with the Gold price staying in a tight range from $1,770 to $1,780 per ounce. Physical demand for popular Gold/Silver bullion items remains strong in the face of higher prices. At 11am PT today, Gold is at $1,777 per ounce, down $1 on light volume.

SILVER

Silver got above the key $18 level in early trading and stayed there most of the trading day. As the exchanges closed early for the July 4th holiday, Silver stayed above $18. At 11am PT today, Silver is trading at $18.04 per ounce, up $0.03 on light trading.
