Silver Moves Back Above $32 Per Ounce
GOLD
The Gold price remains strong in the face of a higher U.S. Dollar index (over 102). Gold has traded between $2,640 to $2,660 per ounce today, as it continues to build a firm base for a move to $2,700 later this month. Tomorrow the September U.S. employment situation report will be released by the U.S. Labor Department. This is arguably the most important U.S. data point of the month and a key indicator for the Federal Reserve.
At 11am PT today, Gold is trading at $2,658 per ounce, up $7 on average volume.
SILVER
Silver reached a low of $31.36 in early trading, then strong Asian demand hit the market. Silver moved higher in Asia, the Middle East, London, and U.S. markets, crossing the $32 level.
At 11am PT today, silver is up $0.35 per ounce, at $32.10 on excellent volume.
