U.S. Dollar Index Reaches a 2021 High
GOLD
In overnight night trading in Asia and Europe, the U.S. Dollar Index reached a 2021 high of 93.20. With the U.S. Dollar at that value, Gold broke down below the key $1,800 level. Gold reached a low of $1,794 before sizeable buying appeared. As the Dollar sold off (below 93), Gold moved back above the $1,800 level. At 11am PT today, Gold is trading at $1,803 per ounce, down $8 on average volume.
SILVER
Silver has shown better demand and price support than Gold today. Silver has traded above $25 per ounce in both Europe and the U.S. markets. At 11am PT today, Silver is up $0.20 per ounce, trading at $25.22 on excellent volume.
