U.S. Dollar Puts Pressure on Precious Metals as It Nears Recent Highs

GOLD

The U.S. Dollar is holding near its recent highs, which continues to put pressure on precious metal prices. Gold reached a low of $1,660 during Asian trading this morning and rallied back in Europe and U.S. commodity markets. Gold did reach a high of $1,685 before seeing sellers. A 11am PT today, Gold is up $10 per ounce at $1,677 on average volume.

SILVER

Silver followed Gold lower in Asia, reaching a low of $19.20. Silver rallied back on fresh buying in Europe trading. Demand remains strong for many of the popular Silver investment coins and bars. At 11am PT today, Silver trading at $19.49 per ounce , down $0.16 on normal volume.
