U.S. Mint Sees 12 Year High In Gold Coin Sales

GOLD

Gold, again tested the key $1,800 per ounce support level this morning, reaching $1,801 before rallying back. A small break in the value of the U.S. Dollar Index helped the precious metal markets. Demand continues to grow, as the U.S. Mint saw the strongest Gold coin sales in 12 years. At 11am PT today, Gold is trading at $1,818 per ounce, up $13 on normal volume.

SILVER

Silver reached a low this morning at $22.61 in early European trading, then quickly rallied back on the U.S. Market opening. $23 is an important level for Silver, and staying above that level would provide a strong base for the next move to $24. At 11am PT today, Silver is up $0.15 per ounce, trading at $23.14 on average volume.
