(December 17, 2018 - B.Batchimeg)
Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ As of December 13, the Bank of Mongolia (BoM) which set a goal to purchase 22 tons of gold this year, bought 20 tons of gold in total.
Gold supply has been increased by 3.4 percent with 9.8 tons of purchased gold by the BoM as of December 5, 2018, comparing it to 19.2 tons of purchased gold at the same period of the previous year.
Specialists consider that the over fulfillment of gold purchase is related to establishment of precious metal assay laboratories and one stop shops operated in October in rural areas. As of today, BoM branches in Darkhan-Uul and Bayankhongor aimags bought 107 kg and 46 kg of gold respectively.
Moreover, the Central Bank organized ‘National Gold to the Fund of Treasures’ campaign from June 4 to October 30.
