Description

Here is a Set of 4 1999-2000 Mexican Silver Proofs. This Coleccion Del Milenio comes with its original packaging, a beautiful mahogany display case and certificate of authenticity. This Proof Set celebrates the transition 1999 to 2000 and the welcoming of the 3rd millennium. It has a limited mintage of only 75,000, but sets with the Mahogany Display case were limited to the first 10,000 minted.

The obverse of each Proof Silver coin shows the National Shield of Mexico surrounded by smaller depictions of shields used throughout Mexican history.

The reverse of the 3 1oz coins were decided through a national contest and were to represent the Mexican history of the 2nd Millennium, the Role of Man with the preservation of nature in the face of a changing millennium, and Peace in the 3rd Millennium. The reverse of the 2oz Silver coin was designed by the Mexican Mint and features the Library of the National University of Mexico, the Aqueduct of Queretaro, and the Mayan Observatory surrounded by the Aztec God Quetzalcoatl in feathered serpent form.

This Set contains 5 oz of Silver. It is a clear love letter to the history of Mexico and its people while still looking forward to the future.

$50 face value is good to have on a 32.15oz bar for future bartering. The bar looks great, has thin plastic sealed cover, comes in fitted box and has authenticity card in the box. This keeps the bar safe from touching, makes it accessible for testing and makes for easy stacking.
