Description

This is an amazing 1857 1c Flying Eagle graded MS65 by PCGS. This Cent features smooth fields that gleam with lovely original mint luster. The devices are strong and the details are well defined, especially the feathers of the eagle. This gem graded Small Cent is very beautiful and will delight any collector.

The Flying Eagle Cent was only produced for 3 years and was the first Small Cent issued in the U.S. Gem graded examples of this year are quite scarce. Current PCGS population shows ONLY 20 graded higher, all at MS66 with a list value of $25,000.

This coin has also been CAC certified for its bright luster and incredible detail. With CAC, prices for the solid quality coins are untethered from their lesser quality counterparts. A coin with CAC certification will have significant meaning to collectors and investors, and CAC coins tend to command higher premiums.
