In 1907 the U.S. Mint produced the first $20 Saint Gaudens Gold coins. The first St. Gaudens mintage was the 1907 High Relief Gold Double Eagle with Roman numerals (MCMVII). The official mintage count was 12,367. High Relief $20 Double Eagles are considered the most beautiful coins ever struck by the U.S. Mint, and grades as high as PF66 are virtually unheard of. Current NGC census shows that ONLY 18 have graded PF66 and ONLY 22 graded higher, with list prices for the next higher grades starting at $205,000.

High Relief is a term that refers to the furthest distance possible between the highest and lowest points. This causes the details to really pop with a 3-D like appearance. Adding to that is the Wire Rim which gets its name from the thin, raised rim on the very edge that must be present around the entire circumference. This 1907 High Relief Wire Rim is especially desirable and an absolute treasure for the true gold connoisseur or high-end Registry Set.

The item pictured is the exact item you will receive. The US $20 Saint Gaudens 1907 NGC PF66 HR Wire Rim PQ. NGC graded coins are sonically sealed inside a plastic core piece that holds it securely within the transparent holder. A special label within the holder indicates the coin's certification number, grade, date, denomination, unique bar code and pedigree if applicable.
