RARE 1908-D No Motto, ONLY 4 graded MS65+, ONLY 10 graded higher, highly lustrous, excellent eye-appeal... Presented to you here is a rare find... a 1908 Denver minted Saint Gaudens Double Eagle of the "No Motto" variety with a high MS65+ gem grade as certified by PCGS. Rich golden mint luster, sharply-struck devices, and superior eye-appeal all make for one pristine golden gem!

Current PCGS population reports show only 4 graded MS65+ and only 10 finer all at MS66 with a list value of $30,000!

In 1908 the Denver mint produced only 663,750 Double eagles without the -IN GOD WE TRUST- inscription before an act of Congress made it mandatory to have the legend included on all U.S. coinage. More than a century after that historical event, only a handful of coins from that mintage can be found in high Mint State grades. You will be hard pressed to find a more beautiful Double Eagle from this mintage as PCGS has graded ONLY 4 MS65+ and ONLY 10 GRADED HIGHER, all 10 graded at MS66 with a list value of over $30,000.

Minted from 1907-1933, these $20 gold coins, known as St. Gaudens Double Eagles are considered by many to be the most beautiful type of U.S. coin ever minted. Augustus Saint-Gaudens was the first sculptor to ever design an American coin. In late 1905, President Theodore Roosevelt called upon the renowned American sculptor to redesign the U.S. $20 Gold Double Eagle coin. Roosevelt considered U.S. coinage to be ‘ugly’ and it was his desire for American coins to be as beautiful as the coins of ancient Greece.
