Description

Here is a No Motto 1908 $20 Saint Gaudens that has graded Gem MS66 by PCGS. The radiant original mint luster gleams across brilliant honey-gold surfaces. This Gold Double Eagle has a great strike, resulting in nice high-point detail throughout. The fields on this Saint are smooth and creamy. This $20 Saint Gaudens has good eye-appeal and will make a great addition to any collection or investment portfolio.

Not only is this St Gaudens an impressive Gold Double Eagle, it is also the earlier No Motto variety. The phrase IN GOD WE TRUST is not on the back of the coin as it is on most US currency. Congressional influence and public demand restored the motto in the latter part of 1908, where it remained until the series ended in 1933. This Saint is a product of the first half of 1908 when the motto was absent from the design.
