Description

This 1911 $20 Saint is absolutely overflowing with eye-appeal. Awarded with a GEM grade of MS65 by PCGS, this Saint shines with a vibrant original mint luster. Beautiful satiny smooth and untouched fields stand out against the lovely warm honey-golden hue of the coin. The strong strike contributes to the outstanding details of this gold double eagle, including the capitol building, the tendrils of Lady Liberty's hair and her feminine fingers, and the feathers of the Eagle's breast. GEM condition Saints are extremely rare for this mintage making this Saint rare and highly desirable.

The Philadelphia mint only produced 197,250 Saint Gaudens in 1911, a low mintage compared to the Denver mintage of 846,500 that same year. Because of the low mintage in 1911 Gold Double Eagles are scarce to find, even more so in GEM condition. ONLY 40 Saints, including this one, have graded MS65 by PCGS and only 11 graded higher with a list price starting at $42,500.
