Description

CAC certified, highly detailed, full original mint luster, amazing eye-appeal... This spectacular 1924-S $20 Saint Gaudens Gold Double Eagle, graded Gem MS64 by PCGS, displays sharply-defined features, including the peripheral lettering. Exquisitely-struck design elements with strong high-point detail stand out boldly against smooth clear fields. This Double Eagle has extraordinary original mint honey-gold luster with an outer rim of amber-orange color. This dazzling $20 Saint has terrific eye-appeal and will certainly become the focal point of any high end Registry Set.

The San Francisco Mint produced nearly 3 million Gold Double Eagles in 1924. Very few managed to survive the bullion melts in the 1930's, especially in Choice condition. PCGS population shows ONLY 4 graded higher, with list prices for MS65 starting at $220,000. The drastic price difference between the grades makes MS64 the preferred grade among numismatists.

This coin has also been CAC certified for its bright luster and incredible detail. With CAC, prices for the solid quality coins are untethered from their lesser quality counterparts. A coin with CAC certification will have significant meaning to collectors and investors, and CAC coins tend to command higher premiums.
