Description

Presenting an extraordinary beautiful and rare Gold Double Eagle from a Key Date mintage. This 1929 $20 Saint Gaudens has graded an incredibly impressive MS65 Gem by PCGS. Featuring a gorgeous fiery-orange hue, spectacular original mint luster, and crisp devices. The details are sharply defined - from Liberty's hair, fingers and toes on the obverse to the Eagle's feathers, talons and beak on the reverse. There is very faint copper spot on the obverse near the 'R' in 'LIBERTY'. This Gold rarity has tremendous eye-appeal and will be the focal point of any high-end Registry Set.

From the entire original 1929 Philadelphia Double Eagle mintage of nearly 1.8 million, current PCGS population reports shows ONLY 28 graded as high as GEM MS65 and ONLY 5 graded higher, all at MS66 with a list price of $125,000. Coins of this rarity and value are usually sold only at Gallery auctions or Numismatic Shows.
