Here is an exquisite 1931 $20 St Gaudens that has graded MS64 by PCGS. his Double Eagle features a warm honey golden hue and the surfaces radiate with magnificent original mint luster. The extensive details on the devices are quite beautiful against the smooth, creamy fields. From the sharp definition of Liberty's hair, fingers, and toes on the obverse, to the crisply defined eagles' beak, neck, and feathers on the reverse, this exquisite 1931 gold rarity has extraordinary eye-appeal. This is a true classic rarity that belongs in a very high-end Collection or Registry Set.

1931 Philadelphia Double Eagles of this rarity and impressive Choice grade are quite scarce in the marketplace. It is estimated that only 100-150 $20 Gold Saints from the 1931 mintage still exist. Current PCGS population shows only 27 have graded as high as MS64 and only 37 have graded higher, with list prices for the higher grades starting at $106,000.
