This is an absolutely marvelous 2013-W $50 Reverse Proof Buffalo. Minted in 2013 at the West Point Mint this $50 Gold Buffalo Proof has graded PF70 by NGC and certified First Releases. With spectacularly luminous devices and frosty fields of flawless quality this Buffalo has incredible eye-appeal. 2013 is the FIRST YEAR OF ISSUE (and possibly the ONLY issue!) of the $50 Gold Buffalo Reverse Proof. Struck at the West Point Mint, this special limited release commemorates the 100th Anniversary of the 1913 Buffalo Nickel.

First Release coins are produced using the first dies forged by the Mint for a particular series. Use of these first dies typically result in a higher quality strike and finer details. A coin must be proven to have been released by the Mint within the first 30 days of issue in order to be designated First Release. Only a limited quantity of coins will be classified First Releases during any production run, making them prized among collectors and investors for their increased scarcity and added beauty.
