This example of a 1928 Chicago $500 Federal Reserve note is lovely. Housed in a plastic currency note holder for protection, this $500 McKinley bill is in better than average condition for a circulated currency note. While there are a few fold marks, discoloring, and some overall wear this $500 bill is free of any major blemishes or tears and features the desirable "Redeemable in Gold" phrase, which was not printed on the later 1934 notes.

The 1928 Chicago series Five Hundred Dollar bill is highly popular among collectors. This nice piece of U.S. historical currency has the portrait of President William McKinley on the obverse, along with the signatures of then Treasurer of the United States W.O Woods and Secretary of the Treasury Andrew W. Mellon. The reverse displays the classic numerical 500 with the FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS lettering below.
