Commemorating the 100th anniversary of the Walking Liberty Half Dollar, this centennial coin is struck from 24-karat Gold and features a blazing original mint luster. First Strike coins are produced using the first dies forged by the Mint for a particular series. The use of these first dies typically results in a higher quality strike and finer details. A coin must be proven to have been released by the Mint within the first 30 days of issuance to be designated First Strike. Only a limited quantity of coins will be classified First Strikes during any production run, making them prized among collectors and investors for their increased scarcity and added beauty.
