This 2009 (MMIX) $20 Ultra High Relief Gold Double Eagle was awarded the impressive grade of MS69 by PCGS. This UHR $20 Gold Double Eagle is simply breathtaking. The devices are crisply struck, and fully-articulated. The Ultra High Relief strike creates an almost three-dimensional effect that makes the devices stand out beautifully from the deep, semi-reflective satiny fields.

To show off the technological advances of the minting process, the U.S. Mint released the 2009 Ultra High Relief Gold Double Eagle. Using Augustus St Gaudens’ design for the 1907 Double Eagle, with some slight modifications, the U.S. Mint was able to produce the Gold coin the way it was originally intended. This 1-ounce coin was struck in 24-Karat Gold and is one of the most beautiful coins ever produced in U.S. Mint history.
