Description

The 2009 $20 Ultra High Relief Gold Double Eagle was struck to show off the technological advancements of the minting process. Using Augustus St Gaudens' original design, with some modifications, the US Mint produced the coins in 24-karat fine Gold. This Ultra High Relief (UHR) has been graded MS70 by PCGS and is also certified First Strike. This UHR $20 Gold Double Eagle is simply breathtaking. It is an ideal selection for the discerning Gold type collector and is sure to captivate the interest of savvy investors, as well.

The devices are crisply struck, and fully-articulated. The Ultra High Relief strike creates an almost three-dimensional effect that makes the devices stand out beautifully from the deep, semi-reflective satiny fields.

First Strike coins are produced using the first dies forged by the Mint for a particular series. The use of these first dies typically results in a higher quality strike and finer details. A coin must be proven to have been released by the Mint within the first 30 days of issuance to be designated First Strike. Only a limited quantity of coins will be classified First Strikes during any production run, making them prized among collectors and investors for their increased scarcity and added beauty.

I’ve gotten coins from other Dealers, but by far this is the best packing I’ve ever seen. Very good work.
