The spectacular feat of Moon Landing is proudly celebrated in the design of the obverse and reverse. To commemorate the 50^th Anniversary of the July 20, 1969 Apollo 11 Moon Landing, the obverse features the inscriptions ‘MERCURY’, ‘GEMINI’, and ‘APOLLO’ separated by moon phases. In the center is a representation of a footprint on the lunar surface. The reverse pays homage to the famous photograph “Buzz Aldrin on the Moon”. It features a reflection from the Buzz Aldrin’s helmet visor, which includes Neil Armstrong, the U.S. Flag, and the lunar lander.

This fabulous perfect-70 proof has a unique curved design. The details are razor sharp and the fields are impeccably smooth and reflective.

First Strike coins are produced using the first dies forged by the Mint for a particular series. Use of these first dies typically result in a higher quality strike and finer details. A coin must be proven to have been released by the Mint within the first 30 days of issue in order to be designated First Strike. Only a limited quantity of coins will be classified First Strikes during any production run, making them prized among collectors and investors for their increased scarcity and added beauty.
