Description

Here is a lovely 2006-W $50 Burnished Gold Eagle that has been graded SP70 First Strike by PCGS. The fields are smooth and rest below powerfully struck devices. There is great detail throughout the obverse and the reverse and a brilliant original mint luster brings life to the design. This is an excellent example of the 2006-W mintage and will be sure to please investors and collectors alike.

First Strike coins are produced using the first dies forged by the Mint for a particular series. The use of these first dies typically results in a higher quality strike and finer details. A coin must be proven to have been released by the Mint within the first 30 days of issuance to be designated First Strike. Only a limited quantity of coins will be classified First Strikes during any production run, making them prized among collectors and investors for their increased scarcity and added beauty.
