This 2012-W Gold Eagle is absolutely flawless. Distinguished with a grade of SP70/MS70 by PCGS and designated First Strike, this Gold stunner exhibits blazing original mint luster. A product of the West Point Mint, this Burnished American Eagle displays devices that are powerfully-struck, resulting in excellent high-point detail throughout. This impressive 2012-W First Strike Gold Eagle features beautiful, satiny-smooth surfaces and clear, creamy fields.

First Strike coins are produced using the first dies forged by the Mint for a particular series. The use of these first dies typically results in a higher quality strike and finer details. A coin must be proven to have been released by the Mint within the first 30 days of issuance to be designated First Strike. Only a limited quantity of coins will be classified First Strikes during any production run, making them prized among collectors and investors for their increased scarcity and added beauty.
