This original roll of 1888 Philadelphia minted Morgan Silver Dollars contains 20 coins in Brilliant Uncirculated (BU) condition. BU (Brilliant Uncirculated) condition means these Silver Morgans were never circulated in society and thus show no signs of wear like circulated coins. They have a sharp strike, bold devices, and smooth fields.

Generally retaining their full original mint luster and exhibiting minimal bag marks or abrasions, these beautiful pieces of historical U.S. coinage have excellent eye-appeal and make a fine addition to any precious metal investment portfolio or rare coin collection. Trading for only small premiums over Silver spot price, these BU coins are perfect for investors and collectors wanting to add fine, rare Silver coins to their holdings while avoiding the higher cost of Gem graded examples.

It is quite challenging to find original rolls like the ones featured here. Although millions of Morgan Dollars were minted, it is estimated that ONLY 17% remain today! All 20 of these Morgan Dollars are original. Better condition rolls like these are often broken up by dealers who sell them as individual coins. Each of these silver coins is a rarity, in Brilliant Uncirculated condition.

The Morgan Dollar obverse (front) features an historic portrait of Lady Liberty. The reverse depicts a somewhat lean eagle which led some to nickname the coin the “buzzard dollar.” Morgan Silver Dollars underwent numerous design changes during their 43 year production span. Both the arrow feathers and the eagle's tail feathers on the reverse especially received many subtle yet definitive revisions and as such, spawned an incredible number of Morgan Dollar varieties (VAM types) making these brilliant cartwheels an avid collector's dream.
