Rare, lovely original mint luster, amazing details, strong strike, great eye-appeal... This gorgeous 1997 $100 Platinum Eagle, graded MS65 by PCGS, has it all; from the beautiful details on the devices to the wonderfully smooth surfaces.

With a bright and clear original mint luster this is a truly amazing platinum coin. The surfaces are smooth and the strike is sharp which provides for an attractive overall appearance. This $100 Eagle will make a great addition to any collection or investment portfolio.

The obverse (front side) displays Lady Liberty along with the year, 'In God We Trust' and 'E Pluribus Unum' mottos. The reverse (back) exhibits an impressive Eagle, wings spread, soaring proudly over a setting (or rising) sun; below the inscription ‘United States of America’ is the platinum content, weight, and denomination. Containing 1 troy ounce of 99.9% pure platinum, U.S. Eagle Platinum coins are an excellent addition to any coin collection or precious metals portfolio.

American Platinum Eagles are guaranteed by the U.S. government for weight, content and purity, and hold tremendous appeal for both investors and collectors. 1997 was the first year the Platinum Eagle was minted and the Philadelphia mint only produced 56,000 1 oz Platinum Eagles, making all Eagles from this mintage incredible scarce to find and even more valuable.
